MAKING OUTDOOR THEATRE SINCE 2020
ABOUT THESMO KOLLEKTIV
WHAT WE ARE
Thesmo Kollektiv are an international, FLINTA theatre collective based in Berlin, that have been creating theatrical events exploring feminist themes through laughter since 2020. They create work in the aesethic of “punk-street theatre”: punk for its DIY aesthetics, gender-bending, political aims and rebellious spirit; street theatre due to it’s use of audience interaction, storytelling, humour, magical realism and big gestus.
WHAT WE DO
All works are presented in both German and English to make them accessible to a wider audience. We describe our aesthetic as ‘punk streeT theatre’: punk for its DIY aesthetic, political aims and rebellious spirit; street theatre for our use of audience interaction, storytelling, humour, magical realism and grand gesture.
The performances are staged outdoors on a donation basis, in parks and gardens across Berlin. Thesmo have been invited to perform across Germany, including at Wilde Möhre Festival, Kulturzentrum Neustrelitz, Querfeldein and Frauenfestival Potsdam.
